GUEST START HERE

You’ve been invited to join The Bigfoot Manifesto — a sharp, funny, politically serious podcast where progressive politics, media criticism, labor, technology, culture, and conspiracy collide with cryptid-level satire.

This page has everything you need before recording: what the show is, what the conversation will feel like, how to prep, and the basic tech setup so we can keep the episode focused, relaxed, and useful.

GUEST FIELD GUIDE

What to expect before you enter the forest.

WHY COME ON THE SHOW?

The Bigfoot Manifesto is built for guests who want a real conversation — not a rushed hit, not a gotcha segment, and not another place where good ideas go to die in cable-news framing.

01

THOUGHTFUL CONVERSATION

The goal is to give smart people room to explain big ideas clearly. We can go deep without turning the episode into homework.

02

BROAD, ACCESSIBLE AUDIENCE

The show is built for people who care about politics, power, labor, media, and culture — including listeners who may not already speak in academic shorthand.

03

SMART POLITICS WITH HUMOR

We take the issues seriously without pretending the world isn’t absurd. The tone is sharp, human, funny, and grounded.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A REAL CONVERSATION, NOT A CABLE NEWS AMBUSH

The show is conversational, curious, and edited for clarity. We’ll use your expertise as the starting point, then connect it to the bigger systems shaping people’s lives: power, money, media, labor, technology, and the myths America tells about itself.

GUEST PREP SHEET

Before recording, Dave will usually send a simple prep sheet with the episode theme, possible questions, links, and any areas worth highlighting.

TECH REQUIREMENTS

The show records remotely, usually through Riverside. You do not need a professional studio — just a quiet space, decent internet, and a setup that helps us capture clean audio and video.

CAMERA

A webcam or built-in laptop camera is fine. Place it near eye level and sit centered in the frame.

MICROPHONE

A USB microphone or wired earbuds are better than built-in laptop audio. Clean sound matters most.

LIGHTING

Face a window or place a light in front of you. Avoid bright windows or lamps behind you.

RIVERSIDE LINK

Dave will send a Riverside link before the interview. Open it in Chrome or Edge and join a few minutes early.
